Man admits to breaking infant's arm in Red Lake

MINNEAPOLIS – A man who admitted to breaking an infant’s arm in late 2012 pleaded guilty to child endangerment in federal court Monday.

In a release, the U.S. Attorney’s Office stated that Travis Aaron Rosebear, 21, threw the child down a hallway after becoming frustrated.

Rosebear, whose last known place of residence is unknown, said the crime occurred between Dec. 31, 2012 and Jan. 3, 2013 at a home on the Red Lake Indian Reservation, according to the release. The charge stemmed from an investigation by the Red Lake Tribal Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The child was 15-months-old at the time of the incident. Rosebear was taking care of the victim, and five other children, while their parents were away from the home. According to the release, Rosebear admitted to carrying the child by one arm, becoming frustrated and throwing the child down a hallway.

For the crime, Rosebear faces up to five years in prison. His sentencing date has not been set.
