James Owen Morgan

James Owen Morgan, (“Chi-wadikwan”, ingii-kanawenimigonaon, gabe-b`emaadiziyaang miinawaa, inzhawenimaanaan, gaa-ezhichiged, gabe-bemaadizid) age 88, of Burnsville, MN passed away at Fairview Ridges Hospital on March, 17th, 2013.

He was born on July 24th, 1924 in Moenville, SD the son of Harley and Leota (Franks) Morgan.

James honorably served his Country in The United States Army.

James was formerly employed as a machine operator for Thermo King.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He took care of everyone. He was the guy that would stop and help a complete stranger. He would give you the shirt off his back. He was a man of great strength, integrity and morals with a sense of humor and laughter that enlightened everyone he met. He was famous for his storytelling. He loved westerns, working on cars, fishing, playing his harmonica and trying his luck at the Casino. He was the Irish cowboy that married the Dakota native woman and brought two world’s together. He chose his favorite holiday, St. Patrick’s Day, to start his journey to the spirit world. Hoka Hey (It’s a good day to die.)

James is survived by a son: Mark Morgan and daughters: Melonie Spears, Mary Ziegler, Margaret Sanchez- Henao, Melissa Morgan and Meredith Morgan, 17 grandchildren, 13 Great grandchildren and sister: Leona Dryden.

Preceded in death by his parents, several brothers and sisters and by a son

Funeral services for James will be held on Friday, March 22nd 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Church (3044 Longfellow Ave., Minneapolis.) Rev. John Robertson and Rev. Barbara Fairbanks will officiate.

All night wakes will be held on Wednesday, March 20th 2013 and Thursday, March 21st 2012 beginning each night at 6:00 p.m.

Interment with honors at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis with Irish Bagpipes.

Honorary Casket Bearers are Shannon Madigan-Morgan, Cazia Ziegler, Marina Andrade, Corrina Spears, Gregory Morgan, Walker Morgan, and Jenna Morgan.

Casket Bearers will be Gary Lee Spears, Chester Spears, George Spears Jr., Joseph Spears, Roman Andrade Jr., Courland Ziegler III, Roman Andrade and Ricardo Sanchez.
