Beltrami Electric Selects McKayla Beaulieu for 2013 Youth Tour

Beltrami Electric has selected Bemidji High School’s McKayla Beaulieu as the co¬operative’s representative for the 2013 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, where she will join hundreds of high school students representing their cooperatives on an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., June 14-21, 2013. This trip is a part of an annual Youth Tour sponsored by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), the Minnesota Rural Electric Association (MREA) and Beltrami Electric Cooperative.

Ms. Beaulieu has a very impressive list of accomplishments, which greatly influenced her consideration for this honor. She has performed in Bemidji Show Choir (Vocalmotive), participated in tennis, been selected to the National Honor Society and volunteered in the leadership program of the Link Crew. She is also very active in her church, where she performs in the band. Her career interest includes physical therapy and her major interest of study is science.

The tour includes visits to many of the National Mall memorials. Representatives will also spend a day on “The Hill” meeting with legislators and witnessing the day-to-day operations of the federal legislature. McKayla was selected based on her strong educational background and community involvements, qualities that Beltrami Electric Cooperative believes are important in our future community leaders.

McKayla is the daughter of Mark and Mya Beaulieu, Bemidji, Minn.
