Red Lake Hospital: From Our Staff to Your Family

The Red Lake Pharmacy will soon be making changes to the Over the Counter (OTC) medication pick-up process. With the change, you will no longer be able to come to the pharmacy with a list of requested OTCs. Instead, you will need to speak to a pharmacist to review your request. The discussion is quick and relatively hassle-free with just a few questions about your request your general health status. You will then receive a product that meets your needs best and some education regarding OTC self-care.

OTCs (Tylenol, cream/ointment, cough syrup, etc) have been available at Red Lake Pharmacy in the past without discussion with a Pharmacist. Starting March 1, 2013, you will need to visit with a pharmacist to obtain OTC medications. Ponemah patients will need to call the pharmacy and speak with a pharmacist. We are making this change to improve the quality and safety of the care you are receiving. We will be expanding our product selection to include increased options for more conditions including: heartburn and indigestion, hygiene care, gum/tooth pain, nausea and vomiting, cough and cold, etc. The changes will improve the safety of use of these OTC products for you and your family. It will also help you to get the best care for your body, because we will look at all of your medical problems before suggesting a product.

This service will be available Monday-Friday 08:00 AM until 4:30 PM. As a reminder, we are closed Thursdays from 1-2pm for a Pharmacy Staff Meeting.
