Marilyn Kingbird

 

“Oozaawan Inaygook – brown bear” Marilyn Kingbird, 54, of Bemidji, MN, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Neilson Place in Bemidji.

Traditional Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Bena Community Center in Bena with Spiritual Leader Steve Jackson officiating. A wake will begin 6:00pm, Thursday, February 14, 2013 and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Lakeview cemetery in Bena, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on May 26, 1958, in Cass Lake, MN, the daughter of Silas Jr. and Rosemary (Lyons) Cloud. She was raised and educated in Bena, MN, and also in Minneapolis after moving there with her family during her teen years. She moved to Walker, MN, in 1984, lived in a Cass Lake for a time, and eventually moved to Bemidji. She attended the Bemidji Vo-Tech and attained certification as a CNA. She worked as a CNA at the Cass Lake IHS Hospital and was a stay at home Mom for her kids. She enjoyed playing cards, playing pool, dancing, bird watching, and being around horses. She loved spending time with her children and family.

She was survived by: her children, Gregory James Kingbird Jr. of Duluth, Larissa (Brandon) Raincloud of Ponemah, Randi Gene Kingbird of Minnesota, Mother, Rosemary Lyons Cloud of Cass Lake, Siblings, Birdena (Mike Myers) Lyons of Cass Lake, Sharlene Rose Cloud of St. Peter, Darlene Sandra Cloud of Marshall, Phyllis Ann Cloud of Fargo, ND, Janet Marie Cloud of Bemidji, Norman Silas Cloud of Moorhead, Adopted brother, Bernard Rock of Cass Lake, Partner, Douglas Fox of Bemidji, 4 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, son Dustin Leigh Kingbird, siblings Richard Dean Cloud, Fayette Arlene Cloud, and Walter Eugene Cloud.
