Red Lake Department of Public Safety Accepting Applications for Community Patrol Program

The Red Lake Department of Public Safety is now accepting applications from members of the community to be involved in the Community Patrol Program. Participants will receive training in radio and law enforcement operations, community patrol techniques and will be certified as community patrol officers for communities in Red Lake, Ponemah, Redby and Little Rock.

This is an exciting opportunity to be actively involved in working with law enforcement and patrolling your own community and creating a safer environment for your loved ones and to engage in successful Crime Prevention!

Community Patrol Officers are an integral part of Crime Prevention. Communities that have Community Patrol see a reduction in the crime rate by as much as 20 percent! Our Community Patrol Officers enable the Red Lake Tribal Law Enforcement Officers to spend more time on patrol and focus on their primary mission. Another benefit to the communities we live in is the cost savings. Properly implemented, Community Patrol groups are an excellent compliment to Law Enforcement agencies whom are short staffed and extremely busy.

Are you interested in being a Community Patrol Member? Do you want to be part of creating a safer community and work with Law Enforcement to protect and serve and help reduce crime, then we need you! Community Patrol is a cornerstone of “Community Policing”.

If you would like to be a part of this program and want to be involved in serving as an extra set of eyes and ears, please help us in this exciting opportunity, please contact the Red Lake Department of Public Safety for your application at (218) 679-3313. You must have a valid driver’s license or can ride with a partner. The Red Lake Police Department hopes to hear from citizens interested in making a difference in our communities!
