Notification meeting set for sex offender

CASS LAKE – A community notification meeting has been set for a Level 3 sex offender moving to rural Cass Lake.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Farden Town Hall, 49072 315th Ave. Representatives from the Department of Corrections and the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office will be available to provide information on public safety.

Sheriff’s offices in Beltrami and Hubbard counties said Gerald Lee Jones will move to rural Cass Lake on Nov. 26. A person designated as a Level 3 Predatory Offender is considered the most likely to reoffend.

A news release said Jones has served the sentence imposed on him by the court.

The release said Jones has a history of forcible sexual contact with an adult female, and “force, threats, and physical assault to gain compliance.” In addition, he has been convicted for terroristic threats, domestic assault, and multiple assault charges.
