Columbus Day: The Cartoons

The ironies—extremely painful though they are—of Columbus’ saga have not been lost on cartoonists. Here was a man who didn’t know where he was going and “discovered” a place where plenty of people were already living. Wait, did he discover a “New World”—or was it India, full of Indians? The story is full of comedic possibilities.
