Paul Bunyan Television Adds Three More Networks in High Definition

(Bemidji, MN) (October 2, 2012) – Paul Bunyan Communications has added three more networks in high definition to PBTV HD service. The networks added in HD are Discovery, The Learning Channel (TLC), and Destination America.

The channels will appear in the on-screen program guide within the next day or two but customers can reset their set top boxes and they should appear.

Discovery Channel HD is on PBTV channel 690. Discovery Channel is dedicated to creating the highest quality non‐fiction content that informs and entertains its consumers about the world in all its wonder, diversity and amazement. The network, which is distributed to 100.8 million U.S. homes, offers a signature mix of compelling, high‐end production values and vivid cinematography across genres including, science and technology, exploration, adventure, history and in‐depth, behind‐the‐scenes glimpses at the people, places and organizations that shape and share our world.

TLC HD is on PBTV channel 672. TLC is a global brand that celebrates extraordinary people and relatable life moments through innovative nonfiction programming. A top 10 cable network for women, TLC has built successful franchises around the Cake Boss, Say Yes to the Dress and Police Women brands. TLC is available in more than 99 million homes in the US.

Destination America HD is on PBTV channel 688 and available to all PBTV HD subscribers who also subscribe to PBTV Extra. Destination America celebrates the people, places, and stories of the United States. Viewers will explore genres including travel, food, adventure, home, and natural history, as well as original series covering diverse subjects such as the mystery of Jesse James’ lost fortune, American heroes and innovators, and iconic landmarks and wonders like Yellowstone National Park and the Everglades.

PBTV HD is delivered in the widescreen 16:9 format that provides a picture with a resolution over five times that of standard television and the 4:3 format. The service can be added to PBTV service for $9.95 per month. Consumers must have standard PBTV service to subscribe to PBTV HD service. $9.95 monthly charge for PBTV HD is an equipment fee, not a programming fee. PBTV HD subscribers will receive the HD channels of the digital channels they subscribe to. Additional subscription(s) may be required to receive all HD channels available. There is a one month minimum subscription required. Service availability depends upon location and some restrictions may apply.
