Iva Lou LaDuke


Iva Lou LaDuke, 78, of Cass Lake, Mn, died Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Cass Lake PHS Hospital.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 4, 2012 at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN with Pastor Dennis Roy officiating. A wake will begin at 6:00pm, Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the Veteran’s Memorial Building and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on August 27, 1934, in Cass Lake, MN, the daughter of William and Lena (Bisson) Roy. She was raised and educated in Cass Lake, graduating from Cass Lake High School in 1954. She worked a variety of jobs in the area including as a waitress, at the Palace Casino, a PCA, and as a licensed foster care parent. She loved to play 20-20 at the casino and tease the boys that worked there. She also enjoyed baking, reading, crossword puzzles, needlework and she loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by: her children, Chyrle (Pat) LaDuke of Cass Lake, MN, Alfred “John” (Cindy) LaDuke of Earling, Iowa, Terry (Marilyn) LaDuke of Cass Lake, MN, Tammi (Donald) LaDuke of Bemidji, MN, Marla LaDuke of Cass Lake, MN, sister, Shirley Lillemo of Bemidji, MN 21 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lori LaDuke, granddaughter Tabbitha LaDuke, great-grandsons Bobby, DeShawn, 7 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Urn bearers will be all of her grandchildren.
