Joseph W. Hough

Joseph W. Hough, 80, of Cass Lake, MN, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his home from a long illness.

According to his wishes, no services are planned. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

He was born on August 8, 1932,the fifth child of Homer and Nellie Waldrop Hough. He was married almost 60 years to Florence Morris Houghs. He was very proud of his 5 daughters: Charlotte, Carla, Cornell, Casey, and Cherie, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors spending time gardening, fishing, and hunting. But music was his love. He played the accordion at a very young age and was self-taught. He also played the mandolin. He played at many functions, and on the radio. Half of his ashes will be placed at Boy River, where his full blood Indian Grandmother lived and is buried. The other half will be interred in the family plot in the Farden Township-Farris Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife Florence Hough of Cass Lake, his 5 daughters, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, his brother Homer, 2 sisters Mary Ann and Lavina, his best friend and brother-in-law Don Morris and wife Joyce. In lieu of cards and flowers, just remembrance!
