In May 2012, researchers at Bemidji State University (BSU) began assisting the Red Lake Tribal Council in surveying what resource related issues and concerns are important to individual Band members.
Official Tribal Membership Rolls were used to determine the addresses of all adult band members for the survey mailings.
The first survey mailing has been sent. Remind cards were sent to those members that did not respond to the first mailing.
Now BSU Researchers Patrick Welle and Hillary Barron are distributing the surveys in a second--final--mailing, to those members that have not yet responded. If you wish to participate and have not received, or cannot find your survey questionnaire, you can obtain one by contacting Patrick Welle at PWelle@bemidjistate.edu or calling 218-755-4103.
Your knowledge and opinions are important. The responses to the survey will be used by the Red Lake Tribal Council to shape the planning for resource use and foster cooperation between Tribal programs to avoid waste and spend the Tribe's money where it will do the most good in meeting the desires and needs of Red Lake Band Members.
