Gladys A. Maxwell “Ikwa” (Women), age 63, of Redby, MN journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at her home. She was born on August 24, 1949 in Ponemah, MN the daughter of Phillup Fineday and Alice Black. She was a member of the Kingfisher Clan.

Survived by children: Marlyn (Emma) Black of Ponemah, MN, Kordell Black of Bemidji, MN, George Maxwell Jr. of Redby, MN, Julius (Renea) Maxwell Sr. of Redby, MN, Kelly Maxwell of Forrest City, AR, Ida Black-Cloud of Roseville, MN and Iris (Lonny) Desjarlait of Red Lake, MN; 13 grandchildren; brothers: Peter (Beverly) Black, Phillup (Sharon) Fineday and Robert (Vicky) Fineday; sisters: Debbie (Wesley) Cloud, Freida Fineday and Annie (Eddie) Fineday; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Maxwell Sr., son Marvin Black, and brother Julius Fineday.

Funeral services for Gladys Maxwell will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Spiritual Leader will be Steve Jackson.

Wake services will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 8, 2012 and continue until the time of the funeral on Monday.

Drum Group will be Black Bear Crossing.

Interment will be at the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.

Casket Bearers will be Lonny Desjarlait, Arlie Wiph, Corey Wiph, Dan Schoenborn, Avery Schoenborn and Joe Schoenborn. Alternate will be Barney Thomas.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be George Maxwell, Julius Maxwell, Marlyn Black, Rob Fineday, Phillup Fineday and Peter Black.

Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted served the family.
