Debra Ann Buckanaga

Debra Ann Buckanaga was born on October 29, 1984 in Bemidji, Minnesota. Debra began her journey to the Spirit World on July 23, 2012. She will be joining her father Kevin M. Buckanaga, brother Douglas A. Buckanaga, sister Crystal Rose Buckanaga, cousins Conrad , Timothy and Jerry Jr. Buckanaga, grandmother Geraldine Ruth LaRoque, Aunt, Melba Hodges, Uncles, Melvin, Jerry, John and Charles Buckanaga and Clayton Hodges, Infant Niece Gia M Buckanaga Stewart, and special friend David J. Jackson whom she dearly missed.

Debra Ann is survived by her daughters, Aaliyah and Lilian Peterson, and Sadie Buckanaga, sons, Joseph and Raymond Peterson, mother Kelly A. Sundahl, sisters Sharon Rose, Kerry Susan, Caroline Geraldine, and Reanna Star Buckanaga, Grandparents, Curtis and Gertrude Buckanaga, Uncles, Neil (Robin) and Ronald Buckanaga, Frank, Richard (Susan) and John (Sandy) Sundahl, Aunts Sharon (James) Walker, Mari Williams and Shari Sundahl and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Debra Ann practiced her Indian Culture and was a traditional dancer. She graduated from Four Directions Charter School and attended the Fond Du Lac Community College. She was planning to return to college in the fall of 2012. She enjoyed going to Pow Wows and cultural events, and enjoyed being with her children and family members. Some of her hobbies were going to bingo and casinos and being with friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the Upper Midwest American Indian Center, 1035 West Broadway, Minneapolis, MN beginning at 7:00 P.M.

Further wakes and funeral will be held on the White Earth Reservation.
