Men expected to be arraigned in Beltrami County on separate assault cases

BEMIDJI – Two men are expected to be arraigned in Beltrami County District Court on Wednesday on weapons-related charges for their alleged roles in separate incidents.

Brandon Joseph Roy, 19, was arrested early Tuesday morning as Bemidji police officers responded at 12:50 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a male with a knife, according to a police report.

Roy is being held in Beltrami County Jail on suspicion of terroristic threats, second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon, minor consumption of alcohol and fifth-degree possession of drugs, according to the Beltrami County Jail website.

In a separate incident, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 19-year-old man after investigating a weapons offense on Balsam Road Northwest, according to a sheriff’s office report. Investigation into that incident began about 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Joseph Ethan Tate remains in Beltrami County Jail on suspicion of second-degree-assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the jail website.
