Bemidji basketball clinic games today at high school

School of High Performance Basketball on Wednesday

BEMIDJI – The Bemidji varsity level boys team basketball camp will conclude today with a series of games.

The contests begin at 1 p.m. with Bemidji Blue taking on Bemidji White and Red Lake facing North Woods.

At 2:30 p.m. Bemidji White and Red Lake will square off as will Bemidji Blue and North Woods.

The day’s competition concludes at 4 p.m. with Bemidji White facing North Woods and Bemidji Blue battling Red Lake.

Lightning contests from the free throw line and the top of the key are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

On Wednesday the School of High Performance Basketball will hold a clinic featuring Wendy Kohler, the Alexandria High School girls varsity coach. The day’s activities begin at 7:30 a.m. with a clinic at the middle school designed for players in kindergarten through fifth grade. A second session for kindergarten through fifth grade players will be held at the same site starting at 8:15 a.m.

The scene shifts to the high school at 9:30 a.m. for a clinic for players in grades six through eight. From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. a clinic for players in grades six through 12 will be held and the day will end with a coaches’ clinic starting at 6 p.m. at the high school.

Similar clinics are scheduled for July 27 and August 1. Perham boys coach Dave Cresap will be the presenter on July 27 and Larry McKenzie, the Academy of Holy Angles boys coach, will be the clinician on Aug. 1.
