The North Star AISES Alliance & Professional chapter (NSAAP) is hosting its first annual charitable golf tournament at the Black Bear golf course on Friday, August 24th in Carlton, MN. Tee time is at 1:00 p.m., Central Standard Time. The event will include a 4-person scramble followed by an awards banquet. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. Additional contests including driving and putting contests and/or a raffle will be available to further chances at winning a prize. Individual golfers are $100.00 and foursomes are $360.00, both with early bird registration discounts. Tournament sponsorships are also available.

The proceeds will go to further the mission of NSAAP, with some of the proceeds used to help with travel scholarships for our membership to attend the American Indian Science & Engineering Society’s (AISES) national conference during early November 2012 in Anchorage Alaska.

The North Star AISES Alliance & Professional chapter is a local professional affiliate of the American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES). NSAAP’s mission is helping Native American students of all ages and Native American professionals who are interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematic (STEM) fields, be successful & accomplish their goals.

Recently in 2011, NSAAP acted as the host organization for the AISES National Conference and the National American Indian Science and Engineering Fair held in the Minneapolis, Minnesota. NSAAP has also just received some funding from IBM and Lockheed Martin to start up a new mentoring program that matches Native American students and early professionals with seasoned STEM professionals and educators.
