Here is some great information from the City of Bemidji Website along with more specific directions to the Rako Street site
City Crews will begin picking up storm debris for residents beginning the week of July 9. In the meantime, residents may place their storm debris immediately at the curb (off the street). Please have all your debris out no later than 8 a.m. on Monday, July 9. Please be advised that once City crews have been through your neighborhood, they will not be returning.
Rako Site: Located west of the Police Training Center on Rako Street- 6 blocks west of Washington Ave S (south of Luekens and El Mariachi- then go west). This is the old MNDOT truck station location. On the left or south side of Rako St.
* Hours: Saturday, July 7 - 8 a.m. to 4 p.m .; Sunday, July 8 - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m .; Monday July 9 thru Friday, July 13 - Noon to 8 p.m.
* Site will be closed - July 14
* City Residents ONLY
* Residents will need to show proof in the form of a driver's license or utility bill.
* NO contractors are allowed to use the Site.
* NO construction or house debris is allowed at the Site.
* No root balls.
* Clean woody debris only.
County Compost Site: Located west of Hwy 71 South on Lake Plantagenet Road SE (just past Maple Ridge Golf Course)
Thursday, July 5 & Friday, July 6: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, July 7: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, July 8: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Please help your neighbors who are elderly, have a disability or may have a hard time removing the storm debris.
