National Summer Transportation Institute
Who: Students in grades 6-12
What: The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Red Lake Nation College have partnered to bring you the National Summer Transportation Institute to introduce you to the world of land, water, and air transportation.
When: July 2nd to July 20th **start and end times will change daily
Sample Schedule:
Week One:
Monday: Opening Ceremony 11:30 at the Red Lake Nation College
Tuesday: Morning: Goal Setting with Jenny Whelan Afternoon: Culture with Ojibwe Teacher
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Holiday, no camp
Week Two:
Monday: Designing and creating robots with Runninghorse
Tuesday: Designing and creating robots with Runninghorse
Wednesday: Bemidji MNDOT, Well’s Technology, BSU Hologram, Discovery Flights
Thursday: AMTRAK and Northland Community College Aviation Tour
Friday: Fargo Air Museum and Fargo Air Guard
Week Three:
Monday: Exploring Transportation on Computers/ Designing and making Rockets
Tuesday: Itasca State Park/Canoe Racing
Wednesday: Exploring Minneapolis Transportation
Thursday: Exploring the Minneapolis Airport/Airplane Rides and Tours
Friday: Closing Ceremony
