Crash East of Blackduck Results in Injuires

On Friday, June 1, 2012, at approximately 5:49 PM, the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash 3.5 miles east of Blackduck, MN on Alvwood Rd NE (Co Rd 13) in Summit Township. Blackduck is approximately 25 miles north of Bemidji, MN.

Upon arrival Deputies found that a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix occupied by an adult male driver, adult female passenger and a juvenile passenger had left the roadway, overturned and impacted trees. The two adults were able to extricate themselves but the juvenile needed extrication from the vehicle by Blackduck Fire Department using the jaws-of-life.

The juvenile was transported via Blackduck Ambulance to a secured landing zone, onto a North Memorial Life Flight helicopter and flown to a Fargo, ND hospital. The adult male driver and female passenger were treated at the scene by Blackduck Ambulance.

Beltrami County Deputies were assisted on the scene by Blackduck Police Department, Blackduck Fire Department, Blackduck Ambulance, Blackduck First Responders, Bemidji Ambulance and North Memorial Air Ambulance.

No further information about the condition of the vehicles, occupants or the extent of their injuries can be released at this time.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigation into the cause of the crash with the assistance of the MN State Patrol.
