The Red Lake School District #38 has the following position open
Position: Cook II
Location: Red Lake Elementary School
Number of Positions: 1
The Cook II will work 8 hours per from 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. on student contact days.
Directs the activities of the cooks when preparing and serving meals. Ensures cleanup is performed after the meals, in compliance within federal and state guidelines.
Supervises food service employees in assigned building.
Insures that menu is followed at all times using approved/provided recipes.
Prepares food for special events. Responsible for “cooks choice” on the menu, making sure that appropriate guidelines are followed.
Checks in, to verify the invoices accuracy and noting if the quality is acceptable, the food and supplies ordered and shipments of commodities.
Completes menu production records after each meal is served. Production record will be forwarded to the food service coordinator on a timely basis.
Oversees the use and maintenance of kitchen and cafeteria equipment, insuring proper use of equipment.
Performs a complete inventory of all food products and frozen products on a monthly basis. Provides Food Service Coordinator with a copy of inventory
Makes sure salad bar is set-up each day. No salad bar on half days of school.
Make sure kitchen is clean at all times.
Attends educational workshops and classes.
Other duties as assigned by building Principal and/or supervisor.
High School Diploma
SERV Safe Certification or ability to gain certification within first 90 days of employment
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Attends training as scheduled
Prompt daily attendance
