Cass Lake man shot Thursday evening

CASS LAKE - A 19-year-old Cass Lake man was shot Thursday night but did not suffer life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Earl Jordan Norton III suffered two gunshot wounds to the back and was transported to the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, according to the press release.

The incident was reported as a shooting just after 7 p.m. Thursday in Cass Lake, according to the release. Responding were the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and Leech lake Tribal Police.

The incident remains under investigation.
