SOLAR OVEN - 'Lessons in Heat Transfer' at RLHS

Students in Mr. Rogers' 9th grade Physical Science class at Red Lake High School recently completed testing their solar ovens. The winning team of Jacob Johnson, Jerrell Fairbanks, and Darren Kingbird created a solar oven that reached a new high of 123.1 degrees Celsius. This equals 254 degrees Fahrenheit. That new temperature standard eclipses the previous record held by Kaleisha Anderson and Keia Roy in fall 2010 of 113.6 degrees Celsius.

In second place was the oven created by Brandon Stately with a temperature of 112 Celsius; 3rd place was Ari Mason and Ryan Graves with a temperature of 110 Celsius.

Way to go freshman!!
