BHS principal receives recognition

BEMIDJI – Brent Colligan, assistant principal at Bemidji High School, has been named the 2012 Northern Division Assistant Principal of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals.

This is Colligan’s second year at BHS. He is a graduate of the Minnesota Principals’ Academy, is a certified instructor with the Crisis Prevention Institute and has received training in the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program.

Before coming to Bemidji, Colligan served as an administrator at Deer River High School and for the Red Lake School District.

“Brent is an effective communicator who builds positive and lasting relationships with students and parents alike,” said BHS Principal Brian Stefanich, BHS principal. “He is organized, efficient and a visionary who is always looking at ways to make our school better.”
