IRVINE AVENUE BRIDGE TO CLOSE FOR CONSTRUCTION

BEMIDJI, MN, April 20, 2012-The Irvine Avenue Bridge will close to traffic on Wednesday, April 25th for 30 calendar days. A detour will be located in the general vicinity.

The closure is for the replacement of three expansion joints on the bridge. Replacement is necessary as one of the three expansion joints was noncompliant during the 2011 annual City bridge inspection. As the existing expansion joints are no longer manufactured, nor do they meet the MnDOT Bridge Specifications, all three joints are in need of replacement.

The City of Bemidji is working with local consultant Karvakko Engineering and bridge contractor PCiRoads on the project.

Questions regarding the closure should be directed to Karvakko Engineering at 218_444_8004.
