Daisy Blackbird, thought to be the oldest Chickasaw in Oklahoma, dies at 109

Oklahoma became a state when Daisy Hawley Blackbird was 4 years old. Blackbird, believed to be the oldest Chickasaw in the state, died Thursday after a short illness, said Michelle Jenkins, a close family friend. Blackbird, of Oklahoma City, turned 109 on Jan. 18.
