Paul Bunyan Television Adds Six More Networks in High Definition

(Bemidji, MN) (April 13, 2012) – Paul Bunyan Communications has added six more networks in high definition to PBTV HD service. The networks added in HD include CBC, FX, Fox Movie Channel, National Geographic, FSN Plus, and NHL Network.

The channels will appear in the on-screen program guide within the next day or two but customers can reset their set top boxes and they should appear.

CBC HD is on PBTV channel 507. CBC is Canada's national public broadcaster and one of this country's largest cultural institutions offering diverse regional and cultural perspectives into the daily lives of Canadians. CBC also features Hockey Night in Canada throughout the NHL season.

FX HD is on PBTV channel 654. FX is the flagship general entertainment basic cable network from Fox. The diverse schedule includes a growing roster of critically acclaimed and award-winning hit dramas series including Sons of Anarchy, Justified and American Horror Story, and acclaimed hit comedy series like its Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League. Its library of acquired box-office hit movies is unmatched by any ad-supported television network. The network's other offerings include the acquired hit series Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother, and live sports with college football and the UFC.

National Geographic HD is on PBTV channel 688. Based at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C., the National Geographic Channel is a joint venture between National Geographic and Fox Cable Networks. The Channel contributes to the National Geographic Society’s commitment to exploration, conservation and education with smart, innovative programming and profits that directly support its mission.

Fox Movie Channel (FMC) HD is on PBTV channel 644. Fox Movie Channel is the only network presenting movies and original series for viewers who want to know everything about how Hollywood movies are made today. Exclusively airing 20th Century Fox films ranging from contemporary blockbusters to great titles from the studio's legendary library, movies are shown uncut, uninterrupted, commercial-free, and in their original theatrical form. Fox Movie Channel is carried in more than 40 million homes.

Fox Sports North (FSN) Plus HD is on PBTV channel 560. FOX Sports North Plus is a channel used by Fox Sports North to simultaneously show multiple live events on two channels, giving viewers another option to follow their favorite teams. As the exclusive local television partner of the Minnesota Twins, Wild, Gopher hockey team, and cable partner to the Minnesota Timberwolves, FOX Sports North televises over 300 live events annually. With multiple teams and just one channel, scheduling conflicts are inevitable and Fox Sports Plus offers the solution.

NHL Network HD is on PBTV channel 557 and is available to PBTV HD subscribers who also subscribe to PBTV Sports. NHL Network is the first network dedicated to the National Hockey League, giving viewers an unprecedented 24-hour all-access pass to the most comprehensive hockey coverage, both on and off the ice. You get live games, daily highlight shows, up-to-the-minute hockey news, exclusive hockey programming, and special events. For millions of year-round hockey fans, NHL Network is the one place they can truly call home.

PBTV HD is delivered in the widescreen 16:9 format that provides a picture with a resolution over five times that of standard television and the 4:3 format. The service can be added to PBTV service for $9.95 per month. Consumers must have standard PBTV service to subscribe to PBTV HD service. $9.95 monthly charge for PBTV HD is an equipment fee, not a programming fee. PBTV HD subscribers will receive the HD channels of the digital channels they subscribe to. Additional subscription(s) may be required to receive all HD channels available. There is a one month minimum subscription required. Service availability depends upon location and some restrictions may apply.

Paul Bunyan Television now offers over 250 all digital networks, dozens of networks in high definition, PBTV On Demand, and Digital Video Recorder (DVR) service.
