Alvera Lynn Barrett

Alvera Lynn Barrett, 47, of Red Lake, MN, died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, March 30, 2012 at the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN with Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin 1:00pm, Wednesday, March 27, 2012, at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake, MN, and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on April 19, 1964, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of David Branchaud and Marlene Barrett. She was raised and educated in Minneapolis, and lived there most of her life. At the age of 16 she met the father of her five sons. She worked for the Elderly Nutrition Program in Red Lake, and a variety of other jobs. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing card games, scratch off lotto tickets, and spending time with her family. She was proud and excited to be a grandmother. She was a happy person who will be remembered for her laughter, smile, and sense of humor. She is survived by: her Sons, Robert (Leah) Barrett, Ryan (Colleen) Barrett, Daryl (Jenna) Barrett, Ricky Barrett, Dustin (Tiffany) Barrett, Father, David Branchaud, Siblings, Leslie Robinson, Debra Kay Cournoyer, Darrell Cournoyer, Arnold Maxwell Sr., David Cournoyer Sr., Doreen Sherman, Michelle Sherman, Grandchildren. Ryan Barrett Jr., Shantaya Kingbird, Destiny Barrett, Angel Barrett, Layla Barrett, and Ryniah Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her mother, siblings Charles “Skunk” Barrett, Natalie Barrett, Kimberly Pierre, Wilma Branchaud, Grandparents Frances “Kicken” Branchaud, Irvin “Tippy” Branchaud, and Esther Sayers.
