CASS LAKE – Polling locations for the upcoming Leech Lake Tribal Council primary election have been set.
Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 3.
For absentee voters, the Leech Lake General Election Board office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 31. The office is located in the Che-We Complex building.
Here is a list of the polling sites for each district:
DISTRICT I
Inger – Community Center
Ball Club – Community Center
Squaw Lake – Community Center
DISTRICT II
Bena – Community Center
Sugar Point – Community Center
Smokey Point/Kego Lake – Kego Lake Community Center
DISTRICT III
Cass Lake – Dikinaagan Center
Mission – Community Center
Onigum– Community Center
Cass River – Community Center
Oak Point – Community Center
In addition, the Bemidji voting precinct will be located at Bemidji City Hall, 317 4th St. NW. The Leech Lake Twin Cities voting precinct will be at Minneapolis American Indian Center, 1530 E. Franklin, Minneapolis.
Twenty-two candidates have been certified by the Leech Lake Tribal Council for the primary.
There are 11 candidates for each of the chairman and District III seats.

The general reservation election board will meet April 4 to certify primary results, to be printed the following day. The general election will be June 12.
