Shirley Ann Raish

Shirley Ann Raish, "Agongos Ikwe", which means "Gopher Woman", beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother; passed away at the age of 72 in Cass Lake, MN on Saturday, March, 24, 2012 with her family by her side.

Shirley was born in Cass Lake, MN to John and Agnes (Reed) Raisch on October 18, 1939.

She is proceeded in death by her daughter Roberta "Boona" Headbird, Grandson Conrad Buckanaga, two husbands Robert Headbird Sr. and Alan Gross Sr. and her parents Agnes and John Raisch.

She is survived by by her children Robert and Maureen Headbird, Robin and Neil (Headbird) Buckanaga, Molly and John Johnson, Sarah Headbird, Shari and Blaine Archambault, Sandra "Amy" Headbird and Dave Swadner, Alan "Punky" and Julie Gross Jr. and Alana Gross a Shirley's special friend Dennis Campbell. Very special care givers Shari Headbird and Ashley Gross who put their lives on hold to take care of her. She had many brothers and sisters Richard " Dickey", Joe, Charlie, Frank, Pete, Dora, Robert (Sam), Isabel, Frederick and others that have gone on before her.

There will be a traditional service on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Prescott Community Center and the Funeral will be on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 11:00 am. No delays! Spiritual leader will be Melvin Goodman.

Pallbearers will be her oldest grandsons Bobby, Kenny, Billy, Sage, Ryan, Russell, James and Danny.

Honorary Pallbearers will be 26 Grand children and 33 Great-Grandchildren.
