9 charged in rape of 14-year-old girl in St. Paul
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Nine men and teens have been charged in the rape of a 14-year-old girl who was forced onto a mattress on the floor and held down while some of the defendants assaulted her.
According to criminal charges, the girl and a friend were at a party Nov. 23 with members of the TB22 street gang. They tried to leave, but the victim was carried back inside.
The defendants include five adults, ages 18 to 37, and four minors, ages 15 to 17. They each face four counts, including conspiracy to commit first-degree sexual conduct and kidnapping someone under age 16.
The complaint says one man told police the guys planned to get the girls drunk and rape them.
Ramsey County Attorney John Choi says the case is every parent's nightmare.
