Roberta "Zhooni Yaa Kwe" Rosebear


Roberta Ann Rosebear “Zhooni Yaa Kwe”, 59, of Ponemah, MN died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Red Lake Hospital. “She was from the Kingfisher Clan”.

Traditional services will be 10:00 a.m., Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Ponemah Community Center with Greg Kingbird officiating. A wake will begin Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Ponemah Community Center. Interment will be in the family burial grounds.

Honorary bearer will be Marion Stately, Priscilla Iceman, Glenda Martin, Dr. Borromeo, Betsy, Lana, Sandra, Jay, Shirley & Rose Rosebear, Billie Perkins and co-workers at Seven Clans Casino.

Casket bearers will be Perry White Jr., Michael Seki Sr., Barry Oakgrove Sr., Challenge Johnson, Kevin Rosebear, Casey Perkins, Darnell Perkins and Keith Sumner.

Roberta Ann Johnson was born December 19, 1952 in Red Lake, MN to Harvey & Susan (Iceman) Johnson. She grew up in Ponemah and attended Red Lake High School and received her GED in 1972. She spent all of her life in Ponemah. She loved going to casinos, watching the Florida Gators, doing jigsaw puzzles and visiting with friends and family. She was loved by many!

She is survived by sons, David (Keena) Rosebear Jr. of Ponemah, Brian (Merri) Johnson of Ponemah and Davis (Raven) Rosebear of Red Lake; daughters, Dawn Rosebear of Red Lake, Denise (Mike) Rosebear of Ponemah, Cora Rosebear of Red Lake, Dell Johnson of Ponemah and Gayle Johnson of Bemidji; 23 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; sisters, Julie (Rudy) Johnson of Ponemah and Teana Clark of Ponemah; brothers, Donald Iceman of Red Lake and Ronald (Linda) Johnson of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
