Cheryl Gurno

Cheryl Rose Gurno, 51 of Red Lake died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Jourdain Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16, 2012 at the Red Lake Center in Red Lake, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 11:00 am at the Red Lake Center and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born April 11, 1960 in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Norcross) Gurno, Sr. She was the 1977-78 Red Lake Princess. She graduated from Kicking Horse Job Corp Center in Montana for Culinary Arts. She loved her animals and grandchildren. She enjoyed going to Pow-wows, the casino and riding around.

She is survived by 3 children: Ellen Rose Benaise, Alberta (Joseph Maxwell) Benaise, Jonathan (Hilary Stately) Gurno, Brother: Frank (Renee) Gurno, Jr. Sister: Barbara Gurno, Special grandson: Dustin Springer, Jr. 4 grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother- Franklin Gurno.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Cindy Kaasa, Dustin Springer, Jr., Destiny Springer, Dalilah Jourdain, David Jourdain, Jr., Alicia Gurno, Donna Morrison, Phyllis Gurno, Shelda Lussier, Linda Perkins, Karen Goodteacher and Merceline White.
