Warriors advance with 95-86 win over Mahnomen

Take on Fosston (21-4) in Thief River Falls on Saturday

The Red Lake Warriors took on Mahnomen on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the Bemidji High School, scoring first and never losing that lead. Red Lake led 52-42 at the half and went on to win 95-86.

But it wasn't easy, as Mahnomen kept coming on strong throughout the entire game, and their leading scorer, Pavick, scored 39 points, hit three 3-pointers, and had 10 rebounds, in the loss.

Red Lake was led by Ryan Holthusen with 31 points, Brandon Beaulieu with 28, Russell Barrett adding 14, Eddie Good with 10 and Nicholas Roy 9.

For Mahnomen Pavick led with 39, followed by Shinborn with 18, Porter with 11, and Fairbanks adding 9.

The Warriors will now play Fosston (21-4) on Saturday, March 20th in Thief River Falls, and that looks to be a very interesting game. Red Lake is an offensive orientated team, while Fosston is more of a defensive team. The Warriors will run, while Fosston will probably try to slow things down.

Fosston defeated Walkter-Hackensack-Akley 61-53 in double OT prior to the Red Lake/Mahnomen game at the Bemidji High School.
