Joel White

Joel White, 54, of Red Lake, MN, entered the spirit world on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 after a long but courageous battle with cancer surrounded by friends and family at the Red Lake Indian PHS Hospital in Red Lake.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake with Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 1 pm on Sunday at the Red Lake Center and will continue until the time of the service on Monday under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Joel was born on July 29, 1957 in Red Lake, MN, the son of Charles F. and Patricia (Lussier) White. Joel attended St. Mary’s Mission School and Red Lake High school where he graduated in 1975. After graduation he attended school for Heavy Equipment. He worked at various jobs involving roads facilities and sanitation as a back hoe operator. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and trapping. These talents and skills were passed on to his nephews as he taught the boys a lot about nature. His favorite place was Kiiwiisay. Other talents include automotive repair, he especially liked making fast muscle cars. He was quite the handy man and could repair anything that needed fixing. Joel will be missed.

Joel is survived by his mother- Patricia White, brothers: Raymond (Irene) White, Michael White of Red Lake, Anthony White of Mpls. sisters: Randi Jo (Robert) White, Kari White of Red Lake, special son: James Brown several nieces and nephews and his special dog Sara

He was preceded in death by his father Charles F. White, brothers- Lee, Robert, Darin “Dude” White, and special nephew Brenan Stately.

Active Casketbearers will be Adrian White, Rudy Corona, Arlen Desjarlait, Keith King, Wally Holstein, James Stately, Daul Cook and Arlen "Bushman" Roberts.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Brian White, Matthew White, Joe Barrett, Kip Gebeck, Leslie Lussier, Jan Roberts, Dave Schussman, Robert Dudley, Quentin Good, Sugar King, and Wayne Brown.
