Walmart meets with New Beginnings

On Friday, February 17, 2012, Ms. Betty Jones, Bemidji Walmart Store Manager and Ms. Karen Rognstad, Walmart Personnel Manager met with the staff at New Beginnings discussing employment opportunities with the Walmart store in Bemidji.

Ms Betty Jones, Walmart Store Manager, stated, “This will be an exciting to work with organizations that have a clientele that is looking for employment and I look forward to working with New Beginnings to attract qualified workers”.

Ms, Karen Rognstad, Walmart Personnel Manager also stated her pleasure with this partnership, “As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we welcome all qualified candidates to apply for vacancies at Walmart. Walmart does have turnover in a number of areas within the store so there are a variety of jobs that open all the time, and if we can fill them through our new found partnership that will be excellent”.

Marvin Hanson, Executive Director of New Beginnings, stated, “It is great to work with a company like Walmart that does a lot of business with our organization and reservation as well. It is a win-win situation. Walmart has employment, and we have a pool of qualified applicants that can work for Walmart. And we have a new bus called the “Employment Express” that will transport new workers to Bemidji on a daily basis”.

The New Beginnings “Employment Express” bus will begin transporting clients to and from work beginning March 1, 2012.
