Bemidji Freedom Walk 2012

Honoring the civil rights legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The public is invited to participate in Bemidji’s annual “Freedom Walk” on Thursday, February 16, 2012, an event to commemorate the civil rights legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The walk will start at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot by Paul & Babe to the Beaux Arts Ballroom on the Bemidji State University campus where a program will be held from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

The keynote speaker this year is Jason Connell. His presentation is titled “Changing the World 101”.

Mr. Connell, 25 years old, is inspiring people around the world to become involved in making a difference by volunteering to makes changes to improve people’s lives. Also featured will be Abe Hunter on the piano and the Kingbird Singers will perform the honor song.

Anyone wanting to participate in the event but unable to join the walk, can go directly to the BSU campus for the program portion.

The event, along with chili, cornbread, coffee and hot cider is free.
