Region 2 Arts Council Sponsors Workshop

Painting to Praxis – Translating Ideas Into Paint

Local painter Paula J. Swenson will take participants through the creative process from conception to implementation and from completion of a painting to its exhibition. Participants will learn the practices of painting and self-expression and how to find new ways to problem solve and stretch their imaginations. The workshop will culminate in a May exhibit of participants’ work at the Wild Hare Bistro and Coffeehouse in Bemidji, MN.

Participants will meet with Paula on Saturdays, March 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st at River of Time Studio on 1017 N. Plantagenet Road SE in Bemidji, MN. The first session on March 3rd will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with all subsequent sessions from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. A schedule to hang art for the participants’ May exhibition at the Wild Hare will be determined during the workshop.

The registration deadline is February 24th, 2012. To register, send a check in the amount of $50.00 made payable to the Region 2 Arts Council, at 426 Bemidji Avenue, Bemidji, MN 56601.
