Walker man dies after stabbing; suspect in custody

A 31-year-old Walker man has died following a stabbing in the Longville area Sunday, according to a news release from Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch.

Cass County authorities responded to a report of a stabbing Sunday morning shortly after midnight.

Upon arrival, deputies found the stabbing victim, James Raymond Elmberg, who was transported to the Crosby Hospital, where he later died. An autopsy is pending.

The suspect, 23-year-old Frank Larose of Longville, was located a short time later in the Longville area.

Larose was taken into custody by Cass County deputies in connection with the stabbing. He is being held in the Cass County Jail pending formal charges.
