Bemidji Public Library's Monthly Book Discussion Program

February 6th & 9th

The Bemidji Public Library offers a monthly book discussion program. The next scheduled sessions are on Monday February 6, 2012 at noon and also on Thursday February 9 at 7:00 p.m. The discussion program will run for approximately an hour. At these two sessions in February, the book for discussion will be the "The Wolf at Twilight : An Indian Elder's Journey Through a Land of Ghosts and Shadows" by Kent Nerburn. The author is local to Bemidji and will join us at our Monday February 6 noon session.

"Nerburn's engrossing narrative evokes the Native American way of teaching and learning with a depth that few outsiders ever experience. This is a touching story that forever changes the way readers look at our country, our history, and the people who first inhabited this land."

Review from the Indie Bound web site http://www.indiebound.org/

"The Wolf at Twilight continues the story begun in Neither Wolf Nor Dog. Nerburn and Indian elder Dan embark on a journey into Dan's past, facing a painful legacy as they search to discover the fate of Dan's sister. If you have read Nerburn's earlier works, you'll want to read this beautifully told book. If you're not familiar with Nerburn's writing, this book will be a good place to start." Quote from Sally Wizik Wills, Sister Wolf Books, Park Rapids, MN

Extra copies of the book are available at the Library or at local bookstores. Book titles for the monthly series come from the "Book Club in a Bag" made available through the Regional Library System http://krls.org/resources/resources.html We are thankful to the individual donors at the Bemidji Public Library and from the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library for providing the extra copies for bookclubs around the Region.

Please join us for a lively discussion about great books! And thank you for your ongoing support of the Bemidji Public Library by helping us spread the word about these events
