Jason Lussier Sr., 40, of Bemidji died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at his home.

Traditional Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN with Spiritual Leader Larry “Amik” Smallwood and Harlan Downwind officiating. A wake will be held from 2-8:00pm, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the American Indian Center in Minneapolis, MN, and will begin again at 2:00pm, Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Red Lake Community Center and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the St. Mary’s Mission Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

He was born on September 5, 1971, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of William Jr. and Sharon (Holmes) Lussier. He was raised and educated in Minneapolis attending the Heart of the Earth School and the Center School. After graduating high school he attended the Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, MN, and completed a degree in carpentry. He moved to Red Lake, MN, and worked as a carpenter for the Red Lake Builders. He later went on to do roofing in Florida. He was very loyal to his family and friends. He was a protector and caretaker for those close to him. He was very sociable and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He deeply loved his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by: his children, Jason Lussier Jr., Joseph Lussier, Jared Lussier, Jalen Lussier, Jarvis Lussier, James Lussier, Jacob Lussier, Jon Lussier, J-Man Lussier, Justice Lussier, Jarin Lussier, and Jory Lussier. His Granddaughters, Jade, Jayleigh, and Janessa. Mother, Sharon Lussier, Father, William Lussier Jr., Brothers, Phillip (Alaina) Lussier, William “Crum” (Louisa) Lussier III, Brandon (Ratana) Lussier, P.J. Provo, Barrett Garbow, Chey Garbow, and Joe Boswell. Sisters, Nicole Lussier, Allison Lussier, and Fawn DeWitt. Special Ladies, Christine Turney, Kim Cook, and Misty Charnoski.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, special grandfather Bud Lussier, brothers Robert John Browneagle, Daniel Peet, special aunt Laura Lussier, uncles and aunts.

Active Casketbearers will be: Craig Sayers, Henry Sayers, Raymond Russette, Frank Brown, Craig Cook, Clayton Cook, Gordon Hill, and Tom Holmes Sr.

Honorary Casketbearers will be: Lou Deegan, Donald Graves Jr., Bruce Jourdain, Jason’s Brothers and Sons.
