Redby woman convicted of trying to hide suspect

DULUTH — A federal jury in Duluth on Tuesday found a 22-year-old Redby, Minn., woman guilty of attempting to hide a suspect from federal agents.

Jerilee Jane Head was convicted of one count of being an accessory after the fact, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis said. Head assisted her boyfriend, Donald Leigh Clark Jr., in his attempt to elude authorities.

Clark was hiding from law enforcement after being charged with killing one man and wounding two others on the Red Lake Indian Reservation on Nov. 3, 2010. He was found Jan. 15, 2011, hiding under a blanket in the back seat of Head’s vehicle after she tried to lure agents away from the car.

Head faces a potential maximum penalty of 15 years in prison. A sentencing date has not been scheduled. The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the FBI and the Red Lake Tribal Police Department, with assistance from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
