Local Indian Council meeting tonight

The Bemidji Local Indian Council, which serves Leech Lake Band of Objibwe members living west of the reservation boundary in the Bemidji area, will have its regular meeting 6-7:30 p.m. tonight at the Oshki Manidoo Center in Bemidji.

Agenda items include a special election for a representative vacancy and the approved Bemidji voting precinct.

The council is focuses on Leech Lake Band issues but the meeting is open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a snack or dish to share.

The Council meets every second Thursday of the month.
