LEVEL 3 PREDATORY OFFENDER IN CUSTODY

Less than four days after he walked away from a halfway house, level 3 offender Roderick Lamoryne Hamilton turned himself in to the Hennepin County Jail at 1 a.m. this morning.

Hamilton cut his ankle bracelet and stopped complying with his release conditions on Saturday. Most level 3 predatory offenders who become fugitives are quickly taken back into custody. Department of Corrections (DOC) statistics through September 2011 show that 97 percent of fugitive level 3 offenders are apprehended within 72 hours.

Hamilton had finished his prison sentences for first degree criminal sexual conduct, escaping from work release, stolen property and theft on November 28, 2011, and was put on Intensive Supervised Release (ISR) in Hennepin County. ISR is the closest form of monitoring the DOC has for offenders who are released from prison.
