Education Strategies and Solutions for the 21st Century

On Wednesday, December 7, 2011, the Red Lake New Beginnings Program sponsored an Indian Education Gathering at the Seven Clans Casino Event Center in Red Lake.

Facilitated by Joe Aitken, guest speakers included Lea Perkins, Executive Administrator of the Red Lake Tribal Council, Marvin Hanson, Executive Director of the New Beginnings Program, Laura Malot, and Michael Neadeau.

Mr. Neadeau is responsible for leading his company's--a renowned software company in Houston, TX--data integration sales efforts. His experience spans over 12 years of software application solution sales in the supply chain industry. Neadeau earned a BA in Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is a Red Lake Band member.

Some of the topics included high school retention and graduation rates, financial aid packaging, successful education strategies for the 21st Century and the role of counselors in American Indian Education.
