THE BOROUGH OF MAHWAH HAS NOT WORKED IN GOOD FAITH WITH THE RAMAPOUGH LUNAAPE NATION

We, The Ramapough Lunaape Nation (Munsee) would like for you to know what is going on in our section of Turtle Island. Please send your prayers and support as the Ramapouh Lunnaape go forward at this event.

DECEMBER 13TH 2011 AT 7PM AT THE MAHWAH MUNICIPAL BUILDING ON CORPORATE DR. MAHWAH, NJ

THE BOROUGH OF MAHWAH HAS NOT WORKED IN GOOD FAITH WITH THE RAMAPOUGH LUNAAPE NATION (Munsee) • Mahwah continues to tax us on our ceremonial grounds refusing to acknowledge the legitimacy of open air prayer and demanding a building to be tax exempt. WHY?

• Mahwah has used unfair taxing of our land on Stag Hill to rob the Tribe of its holdings WHY?

• Mahwah has turned a blind eye while over 10,000 yards of top soil had been removed from our ceremonial land. WHY? • Mahwah could offer no insight into the permitting process without prior DEC approval. Yet much larger homes lie closer to the river than our modest site for a prayer home WHY?

• Mahwah has stopped the carving of sacred images claiming they are structural and unacceptable WHY?

• Mahwah has built a bridge to allow the population at large to access our property for hiking, fishing and picnicking while we pay the insurance and continue to pay taxes on the land. WHY?

The Ramapough have been denied a building permit for our Prayer home, even though we have supplied an architectural rendering, all materials to touch the earth were from the site, and are ecologically Neutral. Now it appears Mahwah is about to question our right to have a Non Profit. WHY?

Thank you

Jack Anderson
