NATIVE ARTS AND CULTURES FOUNDATION LAUNCHES ANNUAL CAMPAIGN WITH $50,000 GOAL

VANCOUVER, Wash., Dec. 6 – The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation (NACF) has launched an annual campaign with a goal of $50,000. Since the campaign launch in late November, contributions have been averaging $50 with the smallest donation at .25 and the largest at $500.

NACF’s annual campaign supports “Mobilizing the Community through the Arts” initiative (which provides support for community based programming); development of technology to support the organization’s work; and expansion of the fund to support Native artists and arts organizations.

“Looking to 2012 and beyond, we are asking our supporters to help to sustain our work and grow our fund, which will help support the future of Native arts and cultures across our country,” says NACF President and CEO T. Lulani Arquette (Native Hawaiian). “No gift is too small and each of us is counted.”

The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation is the first national 501(c)(3) charity committed to building a fund dedicated exclusively to foster the revitalization, appreciation and continuity of Native arts and cultures. In late 2010, the Foundation awarded its first grants totalling $394,319 to 26 American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian artists and organizations in 12 states.
