Benjamin Duane Richards III

Benjamin Duane Richards III, 69, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at Red Lake Indian Health Hospital.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Richards, Redby; children, Toni Montileaux. Kyle, S.D., Marlys Big Eagle, Benjamin Richards Jr., and Jennifer Richards, all of Rapid City, S.D., Angela Swallow, Rio Rancho, N.M., Stephanie Brown Bull, Martin, S.D., Candace Shoulders, Sharps Corner, S.D., and Jonathan Richards and Stacy Beaulieu, both of Red Lake; siblings, Emil "Woody" Richards, Ellettsville, Ind., Anthony Richards Sr., Martin, Sharyn Young and Donna Richards, both of Rapid City, Gary Richards, Allen, S.D., Burl Richards, Tulsa, Okla., and Emma Marie Richards, Iowa.

Two-night wake services begin at noon today at LaCreek CAP Office in Martin.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, at the Old American Legion Hall in Martin with the Rev. Rick Abert, S.J. officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Hisle, S.D.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, S.D., is in charge of arrangements.
