A 21-year-old Red Lake man pleaded guilty Tuesday to involuntary manslaughter.
Prosecutors say in August 2009, then 18-year-old Kyle Hardy got in a pickup drunk and drove after he had been drinking. He had two juvenile passengers in the open back of his pickup.
Prosecutors say his missed a turn on the Red Lake Indian Reservation and went off the road. The two passengers were thrown for the truck. One died. The other suffered a broken leg.
Hardy faces 8 years in prison.
