Red Lake Department of Public Safety Thanks the Community

The Red Lake Department of Public Safety would like to thank the community for their recent participation in the second annual “Take Back Day” sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration. (DEA) The event took place on October 29, 2011 and provided the opportunity for community residents to turn in unused or outdated prescription medications and illegal pharmaceutical drugs without question. This was the second time in which the department collected these types of medications and managed to collect at least three pounds.

The department will continue to work with the community in combating the growing abuse of pharmaceutical medications and illegal drugs. The event was a success and shows the communities willingness to assist the Department of Public Safety in this endeavor.
